Head Gasket Leak Test Kit

The Combustion Leak Radiator Test Kit provides a quick and effective way to detect combustion gases entering the cooling system, helping diagnose potential blown head gaskets, cracked cylinder heads, and cracked engine blocks.

Suitable for most water-cooled petrol, diesel, and LPG engines, the tester analyses gases drawn from the air space above the radiator coolant. This provides a simple, non-invasive diagnostic method that can help identify internal combustion leaks without unnecessary engine disassembly.

How it Works:

The tester connects to the radiator or expansion tank using the appropriate adapter. Air from above the coolant level is drawn through the dual-chamber tester and CO₂ reaction fluid.

If combustion gases are present, the test fluid will change colour. On petrol engines, the blue test fluid will typically change towards yellow, while on diesel engines it may change towards green.

Some combustion leaks can be intermittent and may only occur at certain engine temperatures or under load. If a leak is suspected but is not detected during an initial test, repeat the test as the engine warms from cold to normal operating temperature and under different operating conditions.
